Why are there fewer and fewer male students in universities? #大学里的男生为什么越来越少了#

In recent years, the number of female university students has been growing much faster than that of male students. Between 2002 and 2022, the number of male undergraduates in China increased from 918,000 to 1.76 million – an 88% rise. But the number of female undergraduates jumped from 669,000 to 2.94 million – a huge 348% increase.

Back in 2002, boys made up 56% of university freshmen. By 2007, that dropped below 50%, and today it’s down to just 40%. In just 20 years, what many call the “boy crisis” in education has become a real and serious issue.

Labubu aesthetic #Labubu审美#

Labubu is a brand of collectible plush toy monster elves created by Hong Kong designer Kasing Lung and sold exclusively at Chinese retailer Pop Mart. Labubu is also the main character from “The Monsters” series.

With Labubu becoming increasingly popular, one Chinese netizen exclaims: “I don’t get why Labubu suddenly blew up. It’s even a whole ‘family series’ – I can’t tell them apart at all. Are you guys just following the trend, or do you genuinely like that “ugly-cute” style? It’s seriously overhyped. Just like photo cards, the prices shot up out of nowhere.”

Another points out that “At this point, I can only assume that the Labubu brand paid a bunch of celebrities. Otherwise, there’s no way to explain why so many of them suddenly had such a downgrade in taste overnight – and all made big posts on Weibo just to show off Labubu in a staged photo. This is clearly a form of subtle advertising.”

Ne Zha 2 earns 100 yuan at the box office, filmmakers only get 33 yuan #哪吒2票房100元片方只拿33元#

Wang Changtian, chairman of Enlight Media, said that the current box office revenue-sharing system is very unfair. At the opening forum of the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival on June 15, he pointed out that for every 100 yuan in box office earnings, the film’s producers only get 33 yuan.

He was speaking in the context of “Ne Zha 2”, which has earned 15.439 billion yuan at the Chinese box office. Based on his numbers, the production side might only receive about 5.1 billion yuan. “If we only get 33 yuan out of 100, how can the industry sustain its basic investments?” he asked.

China’s real estate market is moving toward stabilization #我国房地产继续朝着止跌回稳方向迈进#

Fu Linghui, spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics of China, stated that since the beginning of this year, with the faster implementation of various policies aimed at stabilizing the real estate sector, China’s property market has continued to move toward halting its decline and achieving stability.

In May, the real estate market overall remained steady. However, Fu also pointed out that the market is still in a period of adjustment – confidence is still being restored, supply and demand are gradually improving, and more efforts are needed to fully stabilize the sector.

Woman says foreigners were loudly having a party on the high-speed train #女子称外国人在高铁大声开party#

A woman claimed: “A group of foreigners were having a party on a high-speed train in China – singing loudly and even dancing. No one said anything or tried to stop them. It’s like once foreigners are involved, no one dares to complain or take action…”

In reality, if something like this happens, it’s usually enough for someone to call a train attendant or onboard police to step in and remind them.

What’s worrying is that many people believe foreigners can behave like this on Chinese trains without facing any consequences.

12306 responds to claims that “falling asleep on high-speed trains is due to lack of oxygen” #12306回应一上高铁就睡觉是因缺氧#

On June 16, the hashtag #NoWonderIFallAsleepAsSoonAsIGetOnTheHighSpeedTrain# trended on Weibo. Some users shared personal tests, saying that carbon dioxide levels in high-speed train carriages seem to rise as more passengers board, which might cause drowsiness. Some speculated that a lack of oxygen could be the reason people often feel sleepy.

In response, a customer service representative from China Railway’s 12306 hotline explained that although high-speed train carriages are enclosed spaces, the central air conditioning system continuously refreshes the air and supplies oxygen during travel – all while maintaining a stable temperature. So, even on long journeys, passengers should not experience a lack of oxygen.

Another representative added that each train undergoes a full system check before and after trips, including air quality, so there is no problem with oxygen. As for rising CO₂ levels, that could indeed be due to higher passenger density at certain times.
