Crocs have suddenly stopped selling well #洞洞鞋突然卖不动了#
On August 7, U.S. “clog shoe” maker Crocs released its latest earnings report. The company expects its revenue in the third quarter of this year to fall compared to the same period last year, while analysts had previously predicted a small increase.
Crocs said American shoppers are being very cautious about spending on non-essential items, which has led to fewer store visits. Concerns about rising prices may further reduce their willingness to buy.
The company also warned that U.S. tariffs will hurt its profits. In the second half of this year, the extra costs from tariffs are estimated at $40 million, and could reach $90 million for the full year (about 647 million yuan).
After the announcement, Crocs’ shares on the Nasdaq fell nearly 30% on August 7, the biggest single-day drop in almost 14 years.
The Legend of Hei 罗小黑战记
As of August 10, 2025, The Legend of Hei 2 has earned over 400 million yuan at the box office, surpassing the first film’s total and ranking second in audience satisfaction for the summer season (87.1 points), just behind Nobody.
Screenings have been extended to September 17, and the film’s total box office is expected to reach 500 million yuan.
This summer season has seen a steady stream of new Chinese animated films. According to the latest “China Film Audience Satisfaction Survey”, since the start of the 2025 summer season, two of the top five films in audience satisfaction have been domestic animated movies.

Luxury hotel prices plunge #高档酒店价格集体跳水#
According to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of this year, the city’s 1,613 accommodation businesses saw their operating revenue drop 7.3% year-on-year. Total profit was only 59.8 million yuan, a staggering 92.9% decline, on top of last year’s already steep fall.
That works out to less than 40,000 yuan in profit per business on average, just about enough to cover six months’ costs for a single employee. For a hotel with dozens or even hundreds of staff, hiring just one extra person in the kitchen or lobby could tip them into a loss.
This is how “walking on thin ice” their operations are. And Beijing is one of the most popular travel destinations. The fact that hotels are struggling this much is truly hard to believe.
World’s first pregnancy robot expected within a year #全球首个孕育机器人预计一年内面世#
Recently, Zhang Qifeng, founder of a domestic robotics company, has been developing what is said to be the world’s first pregnancy robot. Similar to traditional IVF technology, the system simulates the environment of a human womb, but is placed inside a humanoid robot body, allowing the “robot mother” to replicate the entire process from pregnancy to childbirth.
Currently, the core technology is essentially that of an incubator, but combined with a robot’s belly. The first prototype is expected to be launched within a year, with a price tag of no more than 100,000 yuan.
